Canadian Tire Centre has been home to the Ottawa Senators since it opened in 1996. The arena is in Kanata, west of central Ottawa, and was originally built as The Palladium before becoming Corel Centre, Scotiabank Place and, in 2013, Canadian Tire Centre.

The Senators were founded in 1992 and share their name with the historic Ottawa club that played in the NHL until 1934 and won 11 Stanley Cups. The modern Senators reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2007. Canadian Tire Centre remains the team’s home.

Directions and public transit

Canadian Tire Centre is at 1000 Palladium Drive in Kanata. Drivers generally approach from Highway 417 using the Palladium Drive or Terry Fox Drive exits. Event traffic can be heavy, particularly close to puck drop.

OC Transpo provides event service for Senators games. Routes 404, 405 and 406 connect the arena with Tunney’s Pasture, Orléans and Barrhaven, and return buses generally leave shortly after the event. Service patterns can change, so check the event-day schedule before traveling.

Parking

Parking is available in the lots surrounding the arena. Event parking can be purchased in advance through the venue’s parking service, and lot assignments and access routes are shown on the parking pass. Follow the pass rather than relying on an older map because traffic plans can differ by event.

Entry, bags and payment

Only a small clutch or wallet under 4 by 6 by 1.5 inches is permitted. Diaper and medical bags are exceptions and are subject to screening; the arena does not offer a bag check. Canadian Tire Centre is cashless.

Doors open two hours before Senators games. For many non-Senators events, doors open one hour before the advertised start unless the event page says otherwise. Re-entry is not allowed.
