UBS Arena opened on November 20, 2021, as the home of the New York Islanders. The building at Belmont Park was designed specifically for hockey, ending the team’s split years between Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center.
The Islanders were founded in 1972 and attained success much quicker than many expansion franchises. Starting in their third season, they made the playoffs 14 straight years and won four consecutive Stanley Cups beginning in 1980.

Directions and public transit
The arena is at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, New York. Long Island Rail Road service to Elmont-UBS Arena is the most direct public-transit option, with trains from both Grand Central Madison and Penn Station. Free venue shuttles connect the station and arena on event days.
NICE and MTA buses also serve the Belmont Park area. Riders should check the MTA event guide before leaving because train patterns can differ on event nights.
Parking
UBS Arena uses several event lots, and the entrance depends on the parking pass. Belmont Park Garage is reached from Exit 26A of the Cross Island Parkway, Diamond, Ruby and Silver parking from Exit 26B, and Emerald parking from Exit 26D. Parking generally opens two hours before doors and closes 90 minutes after the event.
Entry, bags and payment
Bags up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches are allowed, but backpacks are prohibited. Medical and baby bags are screened at entry. A paid bag check is available in the Acrisure Great Hall for items that do not meet the policy.
UBS Arena is cashless. Reverse ATMs are available near sections 108 and 210 for guests who arrive with cash. Tickets and parking passes are mobile.
Distinctive spaces
Belmont Hall is a sports bar attached to the arena and can be visited without an event ticket, subject to its operating schedule. The venue’s Belmont Park setting also separates it from the Islanders’ former suburban home and their temporary Brooklyn venue.
